Your customers do not need a CoinGate account to pay you. They pay from their own cryptocurrency wallet, the same way they would send crypto to anyone else.
What the customer does
- They reach the CoinGate checkout page from your website, invoice or payment link.
- They choose which cryptocurrency they want to pay with.
- The page shows an address, the exact amount and the network to use, together with a QR code.
- They send the payment from their wallet, and the page updates once the transaction is confirmed.
What to tell a customer who is new to crypto
The simplest advice is to scan the QR code rather than typing details by hand — it fills in the address and the amount automatically. The second is to check that their wallet is set to the same network shown on the page, since the same coin often exists on several networks.
If a customer runs into trouble, I sent the payment but the order has not updated and I paid with the wrong cryptocurrency or network cover the two situations that come up most.
