You can close your CoinGate account at any time. Contact our support team from the email address registered to the account and let us know you want it closed.
Before you ask us to close it
- Withdraw any remaining balance. Move out anything left on the account first, in crypto or fiat.
- Settle open orders. Let any payments still in progress complete, so nothing is left unresolved.
- Download what you need. Export your transaction history and any reports while you still have access — you will not be able to log in afterwards.
What happens to your data
Closing an account does not erase everything immediately. As a regulated company we are legally required to retain certain records, including identification documents and transaction data, for a period set by law — this applies to all regulated financial service providers. Data we are not required to keep is deleted.

If you just want a break
Closing is permanent, and a closed account cannot be reopened — you would need to register and verify again from scratch. If you simply do not plan to use the account for a while, you can leave it inactive instead.
