When you request a refund from CoinGate – on your order's payment page, through the refund form or through the Find My Payment form – you will be asked to confirm the request with a one-time code (OTP) that we send to the email address you provide in the request.
Why we do this
We are continuously improving the security of CoinGate. Confirming a refund request by email makes sure the request really comes from the person who made the payment and that nobody else can submit or change the refund address. This helps keep your funds safe and makes sure the refund reaches you.
How it works
- Fill in the refund request and enter your email address and refund address.
- We send a one-time code to that email address.
- Enter the code to confirm the request. Once confirmed, your refund request is processed.
If you do not receive the code
- Check that the email address you entered is correct.
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Wait a few minutes – emails can sometimes be delayed.
- If the code still does not arrive, contact our support team and include your order ID.
Please do not share this code with anyone. CoinGate Support will never ask you for it.
